Air balancing is a procedure used to adjust the flow of air in HVAC systems to a specified design. The objective is to meet the specified design airflow throughout the entire system without creating excessive noise. All our balancing instruments used to measure air volumes, static pressures, fan speeds, and electrical components are certified and calibration kept up to date. Testing and balancing a system is a way to identify problems in HVAC systems. Adjustments are then made to achieve the systems maximum performance and efficiency during normal operation.
Testing and Balancing
Environmental systems are designed to provide a proper balance of air movement, temperature and humidity to create a comfortable and healthy indoor environment.
In order for these systems to perform as designed, testing and balancing is needed. Without proper TAB (testing, adjusting and balancing), an environmental system can rarely meet all the objectives set by the design engineer. Research has proven that proper TAB will improve HVAC performance in terms of comfort and health, reduce maintenance costs by uncovering potential problems and provide 5 to 15% savings in energy costs.
